The first issue of the newsletter of the Entomological Society of Iran (ESI) was published in the spring of 1999 and has been since circulated to the ESI membership on a quarterly basis. It is divided into two sections the first of which includes news about the board of directors’ meetings, entomological lectures, conferences, and symposia. The second section gives an update on the scientific reports, and relevant activities in addition to information about pioneer Iranian and foreign entomologists. The editor of the newsletter provides the content in cooperation with the secretary of the board and with the help of the members of the society.

The editor is looking forward to receiving articles and news containing recent and interesting discoveries as well as artworks of insects from both professionals and hobbyists, through the following email.
